After lunch, we left the church and Ibraham took us on a short tour of the city, since we had not had any time to look anywhere other than between the hotel and church. So we went to a wood carving store, the Mombasa Wood-Mart, and then went to downtown Mombasa. We saw Barak Obama Rd. and Coast Province General Hospital where he was born. They think much of him here, and when asked I just respond, “He spends too much money.” I understand they even had campaign posters here all over the city for him, and I’ve seen Obama Yes We Can videos and promotional materials. Silly.
Here are some pictures of the afternoon. The casket company was across the street from the hospital. Hmmmm.
